Myroslav Marynovych awarded Truman-Regan Medal of Freedom

Dr. Edwards Addresses the Crowd
Dr. Lee Edwards, chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, addresses the crowd during the June 2014 commemorative ceremony honoring the more than 100 million victims of communism. Ambassadors, heads of state, human rights leaders and dignitaries from around the world attended the ceremony and laid wreaths on behalf of the victims of communism.
The Rev. Charles Nalls offers a invocation during the annual commemorative ceremony. Nalls is a leader of the American Cold War Veterans Association and served 20 years as an intelligence officer with tours at the Pentagon, Office of Naval Intelligence, the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity, and the Naval Explosive Ordnance Technical Center.
Kulaks and Cossacks
A wreath is laid on behalf of farmers and cossacks killed in the Soviet Union after communism took root in that country. Independent farmers were deemed class enemies by the communist government and were targeted for liquidation, often sent to the infamous Russian Gulag camps.

Ambassador Marina Kaljurand lays a wreath at the Victims of Communism Memorial during a 2014 ceremony. Kaljurand was at that time serving as the Estonian ambassador to the United States; her wreath was in honor of all Estonian victims of communism.

Wreaths Laid at VOC Memorial
Hundreds of attendees paid their respects to the victims of communism at a 2014 commemorative ceremony at the VOC Memorial on Capitol Hill. Dozens of wreaths were laid by embassies, human rights leaders, and family members of those killed by communism.
